Fred sends message to Manchester United rivals ahead of Liverpool game

Fred believes teams are beginning to fear Manchester United again as they build up a head of steam under Erik ten Hag, with Liverpool next in the firing line at Anfield today,

United have won 30 of Ten Hag's first 41 games in charge and pocketed the Carabao Cup last week, their first silverware in six years, by beating Newcastle 2-0 in the final.

They face Fulham at home in the FA Cup quarter-finals and Real Betis over two legs in the Europa League last-16, while their slim hopes of a title challenge remain alive as well.

United's momentum is beginning to look impressive and Fred came off the bench to score in the latest comeback victory in midweek, when West Ham were beaten 3-1 in the FA Cup fifth round.

Having finished 34 points behind Liverpool last season, United head to Anfield 10 points ahead of them this term and looking to land a first win at Anfield in seven years.

Having become a soft target in recent years, Fred believes United are now getting back to their best and the fear factor which used to frighten opponents is returning as well.

"Now they’re going to respect us, we have one way to play, everyone knows [their role] inside the dressing room. It’s a good way to go," said Fred, who has scored four goals in his last 10 appearances.

"We have a good squad, we have a good team, Ten Hag bring us a different mentality. We can win every game.

"We had good games, we need to keep it going, Liverpool is a difficult team to play against. We go step by step and we can win every game."

United's schedule remains packed as a result of their cup progress and by the time of the next international break they will have played 12 successive midweek
