Four positions Manchester United might still need to address in the summer transfer window

Manchester United’s squad looks to be shaping up well ahead of the new season but there are still a few key positions Erik ten Hag may look to strengthen.

The signings of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund have been applauded by United supporters. Each addresses a key area in the side despite the club’s relative success last season, with Onana transforming the way the team will build up from the back; Mount being a reliable, creative force in midfield; and Hojlund providing a focal point in attack.

That does not mean that Ten Hag has succeeded in moulding his perfect squad, though. A few gaps still remain and could be fixed before deadline day, with United looking to compete on multiple fronts this season. The squad reinforcements will be heightened should the likes of Harry Maguire, Dean Henderson and Donny van de Beek follow Fred and Anthony Elanga out of the exit door. Goalkeeper

Starting between the posts, despite swapping David De Gea for Onana, United still have a decision to make over their back-up goalkeeper. The club are set to cash in on Matej Kovar, while Dean Henderson is also expected to leave, meaning injured veteran Tom Heaton is currently second-choice.

United have targeted a move for young Urawa Red Diamonds goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Given the gap in the squad a new back up keeper seems a must.
