Former Scotland coach called ref a 'c***' at least THREE times after Liverpool loss as furious sweary rant revealed
Nottingham Forest have been dealt a hefty fine of £75,000 by the FA for their team's intense reaction towards referee Paul Tierney after a close loss to Liverpool earlier this month.
To add salt to wounds, assistant coach Steven Reid has also been slapped with a two-game touchline ban and further fined £5,000 for using unsavoury language towards the official three times as the Forest crew vented their frustrations after the match. The anger revolved around Darwin Nunez's last-minute goal being allowed because of an error made by Tierney only a minute earlier.
He incorrectly gave Liverpool a free drop ball following a break for a head injury. Despite Reid - who worked as a coach with Scotland under Steve Clarke - rejecting claims he behaved wrongly, the levels of reaction from Forest were ruled to be a breach of Rule E20 by a three-person independent committee. This makes it the eighth time since 2018 that the club has been disciplined for breaking this specific rule.
As per the FA's statement: "An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned Nottingham Forest and Steven Reid following their Premier League game against Liverpool on Saturday 2 March." They added: "The club admitted that it failed to ensure its players and technical area occupants did not behave in an improper way after the final whistle. The independent Regulatory Commission imposed a £75,000 fine following a subsequent hearing," reports the Mirror.
