Former Manchester United midfielder gives glowing review of new signing Mason Mount

Former Manchester United midfielder, Nicky Butt, believes the club have made a good signing by adding Mason Mount to their squad.

United completed a deal for the Chelsea playmaker this week, signing him to a long-term contract at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old is Erik ten Hag's first summer signing.

United are keen to press ahead with more business. Andre Onana is targeted in goal to replace David de Gea, whilst John Murtough has held talks over a deal for Rasmus Hojlund.

Butt believes Mount is a good start to the window for United and has dismissed any concerns about where he will fit in the starting line-up. He thinks United have signed the right profile of player in Mount.

"I think he's a very good player," Butt told Sky Sports News. "As a manager, you want to bring as many good players as you can into your squad.

"They work out over the season where they might be playing. It might be as a 10, it might be off the left or the right but good players always get into the team.

"He's a very good player, I have watched him closely a few times. He is a very talented boy, English and young and he seems like a good lad as well. I think it's a good signing for Manchester United."
