Real Madrid 2-0 Manchester United highlights and reaction after Bellingham and Joselu goals and Mainoo injury

Manchester United lost 2-0 to Spanish giants Real Madrid in Houston overnight.

The Reds suffered a nightmare start to the match as young Reds midfielder Kobbie Mainoo went off with an injury that he had sustained inside the opening two minutes of the match, and just minutes later another major English talent in Jude Bellingham opened the scoring, latching onto an Aurelien Tchouameni through ball and dinking a cute finish over debutant Andre Onana.

Erik ten Hag fielded a strong team in Texas, with Mainoo the only starter who could not credibly claim to be a regular first-team starter for his club last season.

The manager made wholesale changes during the second half but United could not find an equaliser, and Joselu wrapped up the victory for Madrid late on.

This was the Reds' fifth pre-season game after victories over Leeds, Lyon and Arsenal, and a loss to Wrexham last night, when a youthful side was fielded against the League Two new boys in San Diego.
