Former Manchester United man slams 'disrespectful' Djed Spence after Neil Warnock jibe

Nottingham Forest loanee Djed Spence's tweet about Neil Warnock has been described as "disrespectful" by former Manchester United defender Paul Parker.

The Reds wing-back tweeted a picture of himself smoking a cigar after Forest's Championship play-off final win at Wembley, accompanying it with a message welcoming Warnock to Twitter after the 73-year-old signed up to the social media platform recently.

Warnock was the Middlesbrough manager who allowed Spence to leave the club on loan for Forest and, at the time, predicted that the future could quickly go south for his young defender if things didn't go well.

Warnock has since responded to Spence's tweet with some nice words for the Boro loanee, while finding time to have a little quip back about his cigar picture.

"Well done Djed, I did say you were Premier League or non-league, glad you listened and took my advice on board," Warnock said.

"Now go and enjoy your success. Those cigars won’t do you any good though son," he added, with an emoji of somebody winking.

But former Man United and Derby County man Parker told BonusCodeBets: "By making a statement like that, he’s opening himself up now for ridiculing.

"People are gonna be holding that picture back now, and those words, and I hope it comes back to bite him, to be perfectly honest, and that’s what I always said about football you know. I used the words ‘egg on your face’.

"There’s always another game with football, so you can enjoy it, but enjoy it within, not express it with your teammates, but don’t go out on your own and do things like that, especially with a cigar in your mouth.

"To do a picture like that, he doesn’t make any, especially with youngsters around, as well.
