Former Maidstone United forward Lamar Reynolds speaks about his move to Tonbridge Angels after impressive campaign at Enfield

Lamar Reynolds has a good feeling about Tonbridge Angels after returning to Kent football.

Reynolds is back in the county two years on from a memorable season at Maidstone United, during which he scored the opening goal in their 2-1 FA Cup fourth-round win at Ipswich.

A move to the Scottish Championship with Greenock Morton followed and last season he impressed in an Enfield Town team relegated from National League South, scoring 15 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions.

The forward’s performances at Enfield alerted Angels boss Alan Dunne and Reynolds, 30, is confident he’s made the right move.

He sounded out Tonbridge winger and good friend Ricky Korboa on learning of the club’s interest via his agent.

And while there were other options on the table for the former Newport man, there was something about Tonbridge.

“I spoke to Ricky straight away because me and him are quite close,” said Reynolds.

“We spoke about the club and Dunney and all I heard were positives, so it would have been silly not to show any interest back.

“I had quite a bit of interest, different levels and different countries, but I like to make sure if I go somewhere, I need to be happy, I need to make sure it’s going to work for me.

“A lot of times in the past I’ve jumped at things where I haven’t really considered all the aspects of everything, where it sounds great but is it going to be great?

“Obviously you never know the future but this one here felt good, it felt good in the moment.

“I sat down with Dunney for an hour or so and we spoke one-to-one, not just about football, but about everything.

“He sounded like a grounded man, very generous in what he does, and it made sense to me. He’s had a good career himself, so he understands
