Former Gillingham and Whitstable Town striker Ronald Sithole joins older brother Gerald Sithole at FC United of Manchester

Former Gillingham and Whitstable striker Ronald Sithole has found a new club - linking up with his older brother!

Sithole, who turns 21 in November, has reunited with Gerald Sithole at Northern League Premier Division FC United of Manchester ahead of the new season.

He does so after he left Whitstable at the end of last term, having scored on his last club appearance in their historic 2-1 extra-time FA Vase final victory over AFC Whyteleafe at Wembley.

“It feels good to sign for the club,” Sithole told FC United of Manchester’s media team.

“I’ve always wanted to move up north to play football so, to find something here, is great.”

Like Ronald, 22-year-old Gerald came through Gillingham’s youth set-up and played in the 2021/22 season before he was released in 2022 - and moved to Bolton.

The attacker only lasted two years at Bolton but started last campaign with Warrington.

On what convinced him to sign for FC United of Manchester, Ronald said: “I was speaking to my brother, Gerald, about the club. He said the fans are amazing.

“The players, the staff, just everything is good here and I thought ‘Hopefully one day, I can play with my brother’ so I thought this is a good fit for me.”

Ronald spent time on loan with the likes of Whitstable and Faversham while he was on loan from the Gills.

He was signed by then-boss Danny Kedwell at Ashford United last October but, a month later, re-signed for The Belmont club.

While back with the Oystermen, he helped them reach the FA Vase final and scored the winning goal after fellow forward Harvey Smith’s leveller in normal time.
