Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus in what will be their first signing of the January transfer window…
With less than 48 hours remaining, it appears as if the north Londoners are finally about to get a deal over the line as the Sweden international is on the verge of making an initial loan switch from Turin.
“Dejan Kulusevski to Tottenham, here we go! He’ll fly to London today. Total agreement reached with Juventus,” revealed Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano to Twitter.
“Deal will be around €40m plus add ons – including loan fee and buy clause that could become mandatory in case of UCL qualification/certain number of appearances.”
This will come as a huge source of encouragement to manager Antonio Conte, especially after the club missed out on one of their top targets this window in FC Porto star Luis Diaz.
As per reports in Portugal, the Colombian winger favoured a move to Liverpool over the Lilywhites, who also saw a £45m bid rejected in the last few days.
However, none of that matters anymore as sporting director Fabio Paratici is about to hand his manager a familiar figure in Kulusevski.
The Italian supremo was the man to bring the 21-year-old to the Allianz Stadium in 2020 – during his maiden campaign at the club, he delivered 14 direct goal contributions across 47 appearances, whilst featuring in as many as seven different roles.
That versatility will be hugely appealing to Conte, who could deploy him as a winger, an inside forward, a no.10 and upfront.
