‘Class’, ‘Hope it works out’ – These Blackburn fans react to significant player announcement

Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of winger Ryan Hedges from Aberdeen, the Championship club have announced.

Having previously played in the Championship for Barnsley, Hedges left Oakwell to join Aberdeen in the summer of 2019.

The 26-year-old then went on to score 18 goals and provide 13 assists in 86 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership side.

Now though, the Welsh international has returned to the EFL, signing for Blackburn for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract, with the option to extend by 12 months, effectively securing his future at Ewood Park until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Hedges becomes Rovers’ fourth January signing after James Brown, Deyovaisio Zeefuik and Dilan Markanday, and joins with the club second in the Championship table.

The move comes after Blackburn reportedly had bids for Hedges rejected on the final day of last summer’s transfer window.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of Hedges’ arrival, plenty of Blackburn fans were keen to give their thoughts on their side’s latest piece of business.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
