Harry Kane 'wants assurances that Antonio Conte will be backed'

Harry Kane reportedly wants assurances that Antonio Conte will be backed this summer before he commits his future to Tottenham.

The England captain tried to engineer a move last year to this weekend's opponents Manchester City, to improve his chances of winning trophies.

Kane is happier now though and feels Conte could be the man to end Tottenham's 14-year long wait to win a trophy.

The Sun have reported though that the 28-year-old 'expects guarantees' from chairman Daniel Levy that Tottenham appease Conte and bring in the quality new signings that the Italian desires.

Kane wants those assurances before he would consider before committing his future to Tottenham - rather than try to engineer a move away from the club again this summer.

Both Kane and Conte have had their frustrations over Tottenham in the last 12 months.

Kane will lead the line on Saturday when Tottenham travel to Manchester City in a game that Conte has admitted will be 'very tough' for his side.

Conte has been very vocal about Tottenham's business during the January transfer window.

Last month, Spurs brought in only Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, while Tanguy Ndombele, Bryan Gil, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso all left.
