Footage of a Chelsea steward being injured by Kai Havertz’s shot is going viral
Chelsea are finishing their Premier League campaign with a bit of a whimper.
The Blues have won just two of their previous seven league matches and they’re still yet to confirm their top-four finish.
On Saturday, Thomas Tuchel’s side led Wolves 2-0 thanks to a Romelu Lukaku brace. Three points would have gone a long way to ensure Champions League football next season.
However, Wolves produced a stunning fightback.
Francisco Trincao pulled one back with 10 minutes remaining before Conor Coady equalised in the 90+7th-minute.
A bad day for everyone involved with Chelsea.
And it was a particularly tough day for one Chelsea employee.
We’re not talking about Tuchel or any of the players.
Instead, we’re talking about one poor steward.
He was doing his job by sitting by the goal and looking toward the crowd. However, he was always in danger of being hit by a stray shot – and that’s exactly what happened.
Kai Havertz was the culprit as he dragged his shot wide of the goal. But it hit the steward in the side of the ribs as he rolled around in pain.
Wolves goalkeeper, Jose Sa, checked on his well-being as he collected the ball.
We shouldn’t laugh but it’s really hard not to…
