Five of the best burger joints in Manchester to visit on National Burger Day 2024

There are, quite frankly, far too many ways you can have a burger. From smashed and doubled-up to vegan or loaded up with countless toppings like hash browns, bacon and onion rings.

Thankfully, Manchester is just as known for its rain and its football clubs as it is its numerous burger joints (perhaps), meaning there are plenty of places to visit if you’re fancying the plain original or something a little more different.

Today (August 22) is National Burger Day - an opportunity to celebrate the old faithful and recognise its place on our plates over the years. In fact, it’s thought that the earliest record of a hamburger dates back to 1758 - meaning it’s literally been a part of our lives in one way or another for hundreds of years.
