Five Manchester United youngsters must be considered for loan exits

Manchester United have finally made progress in their summer transfer business. The Manchester Evening News understands that the club have agreed deals for Tyrell Malacia and Frenkie de Jong, subject to medicals, making them the first two signings of the Erik ten Hag era.

More incomings are expected, but it now has reached the time where United must seriously consider who will be leaving the club as well. Brandon Williams, Alex Telles, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Antony Martial are among those likely to be available for transfer, but it is not just the players that are leaving permanently; there are the ones that will be leaving on loan.

United have a number of talented youth players who they hope will be part of the club's long-term future under Ten Hag. And to aid their development and give them guaranteed first-team minutes, a temporary move away should be considered.

With the signing of Malacia, United now have a surplus of left-backs even if two are on the list to leave in this window. With this in mind, however, United are considering a loan move for Alvaro Fernandez this summer.

Fernandez won United's U23 player of the year last season and was tipped by many fans to receive his debut under Ralf Rangnick, however, this never materialised. The 19-year-old full-back is incredibly talented and a force going forward, but a potential loan move may get him used to the physicality of his position.

James Garner could also go back on loan this summer. He thrived and grew as a player while on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship and a Premier League move could help him kick on to that next level.
