Five Darwin Nunez alternatives for Manchester United to consider after Liverpool FC transfer
Manchester United's hopes of signing Darwin Nunez were dashed earlier this week after Liverpool announced that they had purchased the striker from Benfica.
United will still be keen to add at least one striker to their ranks this summer with Edinson Cavani leaving the club at the expiration of his contract. Should Erik ten Hag wish to sign a player similar to Nunez, there are plenty of alternatives out there.

Inaki Williams - Athletic Bilbao
Williams has been in and around the first team at Athletic Bilbao since 2015. At the age of 28, the Basque player looks set to be keeping his loyalty to his hometown club.
The forward has never been prolific but has spent plenty of time playing on the right wing for Bilbao. Last season he was an ever-present in La Liga, scoring eight goals and grabbing six assists in 42 appearances.
Harry Kane - Tottenham Hotspur
Also 28, Kane is no stranger to being linked with a move to Old Trafford. Had Mauricio Pochettino been hired at United instead of Ten Hag, it was thought that the former Spurs boss would have attempted to bring Kane to United.
England's captain racked up 27 goals last season having been heavily linked with Manchester City the previous summer. His contract is due to expire in 2024 so this is likely the penultimate window where the London club could get big money for their talisman.
Georginio Rutter - Hoffenheim
An option which could grab the attention of Ten Hag is Rutter who, at the age of
