Fired up Todd Cantwell denies he chucked it at Rangers and claims club is different to one he signed for

Het-up Todd Cantwell claims he signed for a different Rangers to the one he has left and is adamant he never refused to play for the Ibrox side.

The midfielder has made a beeline for social media in the wake of his cut-price £600k move to Blackburn Rovers to respond to his snipers and shower praise on Rangers fans. Philippe Clement returned to a packed press room after a pre-season defeat to Birmingham to announce Cantwell wanted out of Ibrox, however, the playmaker is adamant he would have donned the light blue once more.

Posting on Instagram, Cantwell insisted: "It's been an honour to play for this incredible football club, some of the staff behind the scenes are the hardest of workers but also incredible people. I have enjoyed every moment of playing in the famous blue and 100 per cent every time I did. I never and would never say I didn't want to play for the club and that was never my decision. Me and my family are Rangers for life. I signed for a different Rangers than the one that I leave. Mon the Gers."
