Fire crews rush to street in early hours after car goes up in flames
Fire crews raced to a street in Failsworth in the early hours of this morning after a car went up in flames.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze on Old Road at around 2.50am today (Tuesday). The blaze broke out while the car was parked in a car park, close to the Old Road Chippy.
Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the flames. They 'made the surrounding area safe'.

Video footage from the scene showed the car engulfed in flames as smoke billowed from the vehicle. A number of other parked cars were also left damaged due to the fire, the M.E.N understands.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "At shortly after 2.50am today (April 23) one fire engine from Phillips Park fire station attended a car on fire in a car park on Old Road, Failsworth.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and make the surrounding area safe. Crews were in attendance for around half an hour."
