LIVE: Serious incident in Oldham as police and fire crews shut street - latest updates from scene

A street in Oldham has been closed off this afternoon amid a serious incident.

Police and fire crews are at the scene on Hollins Road, close to the junction with Frederick Street. A stretch of the road has been taped off as emergency services respond.

Pictures taken on the scene show one car flipped over onto its side in the road. The car appears to have been left damaged with a smashed windscreen.

The police helicopter was also reportedly spotted overhead amid the incident. It has not yet been confirmed at this stage whether anyone is seriously injured, or whether any arrests have been made.

Greater Manchester Police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for information.
