Fire crews rush to road in Droylsden following a collision between two cars

Fire crews rushed to a road in Droylsden following a collision between two cars. Emergency services were called to Edge Lane following reports of the crash on Wednesday evening (January 24).

Images from the scene show firefighters tending to a Mini Cooper which was one of the vehicles involved. Two people were checked by ambulance at the scene and GMFRS were in attendance for half an hour.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 6pm this evening (Wednesday 24^th January), two fire engines from Blackley and Philips Park fire station, along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Edge Lane, Droylsden.

“Crews arrived quickly at the scene. Firefighters used a hearth kit and lighting to make the vehicles safe. Two people were assessed at the scene by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around thirty minutes.”
