'Fingers pointed' - Rasmus Hojlund questioned after nightmare Man United half

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Rasmus Hojlund may have had fingers pointed at him in the dressing room at half-time following a difficult night against Fulham.

Manager Ruben Amorim chose to start the Dane once again at Craven Cottage but he struggled to be effective as the lone striker. Hojlund lost the ball ten times in the first half as United struggled to gain a foothold in proceedings.

He would last just over ten minutes in the second half before being replaced by Joshua Zirkzee. This meant that Hojlund has failed to score for the Reds in the Premier League since the beginning of December against Nottingham Forest.

Speaking in the TNT Sports studio at the break, Ferdinand laid into Hojlund for his performance. "I think that (losing the ball ten times) probably says it all," he explained.

"I will be surprised if he is not getting a few fingers pointed at him in the changing room at half-time. Hold the ball, keep the ball, you are the platform sometimes for us to get up the pitch and I think far too many times...he is so loose in these situations.

"The amount of turnovers that he had today...

"Man United can't get out and get any good positions in and around their opponents' final third when your number nine isn't able to hold the ball up.

"Bring the ball in, lay someone off and then the team can start making their way up the pitch.

"Man United, most of their possession has been the three centre-backs when there is no pressure on the ball.

"Anytime there is pressure, Man United have turned the ball over."
