'Final days of the window' - Fabrizio Romano drops update involving 'unstoppable' Leeds target

Long-time Leeds United transfer target Nahitan Nandez could be set for a move to Juventus in January, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Few players have been linked with a move to Elland Road more often than the Uruguayan in recent months, with continuous reports claiming the Whites could snap him up.

Back in the summer window, one report even claimed Orta had personally jetted out to Italy to lock up a deal, but it never materialised.

Nandez has been an influential figure in the middle of the park for Cagliari this season, making 15 starts in Serie A, but a January exit is seemingly on the cards.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday evening, Romano claimed Nandez is on Juve’s list of possible signings ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline:

“Denis Zakaria and Nahitan Nández are both in Juventus list for final days of the window in case Rodrigo Bentancur or Arthur Melo will leave this week.”

It is a big blow for Leeds, assuming Nandez heads to the Turin giants, but in truth, it comes as no great surprise that they could miss out on him.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are in a potential relegation battle in the Premier League, while Juve remain one of Europe’s biggest clubs, fighting for trophies and offering Champions League football year in year out.

Nandez is someone who has played alongside icon pair Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani for Uruguay – he has won 49 caps for his country – and he may feel he deserves to be at a Champions League club, having been hailed as ‘unstoppable’ by Serie A pundit Mina Rzouki.

In other news, Leeds have been linked with a move for one player. Find out who it is here.
