Field of 14 declared for Irish 1,000 Guineas

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Tuesday heads a field of 14 for the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Sunday.

Third in the English edition of the mile fillies' Classic at Newmarket at the beginning of May, the master of Ballydoyle also saddles recent winners History and Concert Hall, and outsider Lullaby as he bids for a fourth consecutive win and an eleventh overall success in the race.

Homeless Songs is out to give Dermot Weld his fifth success in the race, 40 years to the day after the Wally Swinburn-ridden Prince's Polly secured a third Classic victory for the Curragh trainer in the year after Blue Wind won the Oaks at both Epsom and the Curragh.

There are two contenders from across the Irish Sea with Purplepay set to have her first outing for William Haggas, while James Ferguson will saddle Mise En Scene.

Also in contention are the Fozzy Stack-trained Hermana Estrella, Joseph O'Brien’s Agartha, the Henry de Bromhead-trained Star Girls Aalmal, Villanova Queen from the Jessica Harrington stable, the Ger Lyons-trained Panama Red, Noel Meade's Lady Of Inishfree and Freedom Of Speech from the Jim Bolger yard.
