The last time Brendan Rodgers was in charge of Celtic for a Champions League group stage game it ended in bitter disappointment.

That was almost six years ago as the Irishman watched his side go down to Anderlecht at home but now he is back for a second spell at Parkhead and looking to make waves in Europe - starting with a trip across the North Sea.

It will be anything but plain sailing against free-scoring Feyenoord but last season's Treble winners have plenty in their ranks to be optimistic about coming away from Holland with a positive result.

Kyogo Furuhashi is one man Rodgers will be looking to as the Japan star looks to underline his big game credentials, having so often been the hero for the Hoops in domestic fixtures.

But it's at the other end where Celtic have personnel problems with Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips an injury doubt from a defence already missing Cameron Carter-Vickers, summer signing Maik Nawrocki and Stephen Welsh.
