Ferdinand claims Salah is having a BETTER season than Suarez in 13-14

Rio Ferdinand believes that Mohamed Salah's exploits for Liverpool this campaign have eclipsed Luis Suarez's incredible 2013-14 season at Anfield, lifting the lid on a debate with Michael Owen over the pair.

Salah, 29, has been in sensational form for the Reds this term, bagging 25 goals and nine assists for Jurgen Klopp's side in 30 games.

His contributions have kept Liverpool firing on all fronts and his strike against Norwich City on Saturday was his 150th goal for the Merseyside club since arriving from Roma in 2017.

As a result, Salah's place in Liverpool's all-time best attackers has been discussed and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes that the Egyptian has moved a level above former Reds striker Suarez.

The Uruguayan enjoyed a remarkable 13-14 campaign at Anfield, scoring 31 goals in 33 appearances as well as laying on 17 assists for his team-mates as Brendan Rodgers' side went incredibly close to the Premier League title.
