Fawlty Towers dining experience to return to Greater Manchester this month

A Fawlty Towers dining experience offering hijinks and ‘non-stop laughter’ will be held at Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2023 later this month.

The three-hour event will feature a 70’s inspired three-course meal with a twist alongside immersive entertainment inspired by the hit 1974 comedy classic series Fawlty Towers starring John Cleese and Andrew Sachs.

The show, which is described as being 70% improvised, has been touring the world since 2008. The dining experience featured at Manchester’s Hotel Brooklyn at the start of the year and was also a big hit at last year’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival.

Whilst still paying homage, the production is devised from its own scripts and is not affiliated with the BBC series. The event will take place at Bolton’s Albert Halls on August 26.

A spokesperson for the show said: “Created in homage to the iconic sitcom written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, fans of the TV show are invited to indulge in a 70’s inspired three-course menu with a Bolton Food and Drink Festival twist, while enjoying this loving tribute to the legendary comedy classic.

“While inspired by the BBC series, the experience itself is developed around its own format and is not affiliated with the iconic TV show, with over 70% of the evening completely improvised on the night – meaning no two experiences are ever the same.

“For one night only you can become part of the action as guests can expect nothing short of guaranteed hilarity and a brilliant night out while taking an eager look behind the curtain and becoming fully immersed in your favourite TV show.
