Manager Tommy Warrilow has explained Faversham's decision to sign goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney.
The former Dartford and Chatham man started the Lilywhites’ 4-2 Isthmian South East win at leaders Three Bridges last weekend.
With Jacob Russell still sidelined, Roshan Greensall had been the Town No.1 since mid-September.
But Warrilow saw enough in 30-year-old former Sittingbourne keeper Beeney to bring him in as Faversham capitalised on changes at the Brickies that have seen Reece Prestedge replace Ryan Maxwell at the Woodstock helm.
“It was just a decision we had to make,” said Warrilow, who has seen Greensall leave for Ashford.
“When we saw Mitch at Sittingbourne, we saw he was a big presence. Roshan didn’t do a lot wrong.
“But Mitch was someone we were looking at prior to signing Roshan and, with Max leaving, he hadn’t played for a couple of games, so we felt it was worth asking the question. I don’t think he did a lot wrong for the goals on Saturday.
“It was just a football decision. If there’s something we can do to strengthen, we will act on it.
“But I’m glad Roshan has found a club quickly. I spoke to Lloyd (Hume, Ashford’s boss) about him.
“I’m glad he’s kept playing because I believe he wants to go to higher levels.”
Faversham now find themselves three points behind Three Bridges after they came from behind to beat them.
They were 2-0 down inside 12 minutes - the first a controversial penalty awarded for hand-ball - before forward Eniye Amgbaduba pulled one back. Town failed to convert a penalty before half-time, too, and the hosts were reduced to 10 men.
After the break, goals from midfielders James Dyer and Harrison Pont flipped the game on its head.
Three Bridges were reduced to just nine players in the 79th
