Facundo Pellistri has just told Manchester United fans something they wanted to hear

"This indecision's bugging me, If you don't want me, set me free. You got to let me know, should I stay or should I go."

Facundo Pellistri was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 2001, which was 19 years after The Clash released one of their most popular singles, so it seems unlikely the winger has even heard that punk hit during his time at Manchester United.

You'd certainly get long odds on Pellistri having posters of lead singer Joe Strummer adorning his bedroom walls.

Pellistri is missing out if he hasn't heard that song and some of the lyrics feel appropriate to describe his predicament at Old Trafford. Should he stay or should he go on loan this summer? The indecision must be bugging him.

It's understood United are currently in talks with Sheffield United over a potential loan deal for Pellistri, but considering the lack of depth at right-wing, it's been no surprise to see supporters question the prospect of him leaving.

Although he joined United in October 2020 from Penarol, there have been two loan spells to Spain for Pellstri and it still feels like he's a relatively unknown quantity because he's been limited to few appearances in a red shirt.

Pellistri has made just 12 appearances for United and that includes a single start in a meaningless game against Real Betis in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16 when the tie had already been won.

The bulk of his opportunities have been cameos from the bench and to his credit, he's looked bright in each of those. Pellistri is not the finished product, but he's been direct, confident and capable of playing a cross when he's played.
