FA Trophy fourth round draw: Chatham Town v Carlisle United and Ebbsfleet United v Forest Green Rovers

The draw has been made for the fourth round of the FA Trophy – with National League high-flyers heading to Kent.

Chatham Town’s reward for Saturday’s win over Plymouth Parkway is a home tie against Carlisle United.

The draw for Chatham will see their chairman-manager Hake – a big Manchester United fan – come up against one of the Reds‘ former legends, with Mark Hughes in charge at Carlisle.

The Cumbrian side were relegated from the Football League last season and are hoping to make a return at the first attempt.

Ebbsfleet United are the only other Kent side in the last-32, and they will also face top non-league opposition at home, drawn against Forest Green Rovers.

Forest Green – managed by Robbie Savage – sit second in the National League, one place above Carlisle. Both teams are joint on points with leaders Rochdale.

Chatham have never played at the fourth-round stage in their history and overcame Plymouth at the Bauvill Stadium, thanks to goals from Matty Macarthur, Tope Fadahunsi and Ben Allen.

Chats had already beaten Needham Market, Waltham Abbey and Wimborne Town before the win over Plymouth Parkway put them into the last-32.

Josh Wright’s Ebbsfleet side beat Braintree Town 3-1 on Saturday with goals from Ben Chapman, Lennon Peake and Maxx Manktelow.

FA Trophy fourth-round matches will take place on the weekend of Saturday, January 10.

Maidstone United and Dover Athletic were both knocked out in the third round.

The Stones lost to National League side Yeovil Town on penalties after the match at Huish Park ended 1-1

Both goals in the match came late on as Yeovil took an 89th-minute lead, only for George Elokobi’s side to level through Hamzad Kargbo, heading in a cross from fellow substitute Ruben Carvalho.
