Excitement builds as Nottingham Forest fans count down to the big game

Ahead of Sunday’s big game, loyal Nottingham Forest supporters are backing the team whether they are going to Wembley or watching the match here in Nottingham. But many people told Nottinghamshire Live that they can’t bear to go through yet another penalty shootout.

The big Championship play-off decider at Wembley on Sunday May 29 is almost here. Nottingham Forest will be playing against Huddersfield with kick off at 4.30pm.

If the Reds take Nottingham Forest to victory in the all important match on Sunday, they’ll be playing in the Premier League. Goalkeeper Brice Samba has been tipped to rise to the occasion again for Nottingham Forest when they head to Wembley.

In Arnold, Sherwood and Nottingham City Centre, small stalls selling Nottingham Forest merchandise such as scarves and flags have been spotted. In Arnold, people told Nottinghamshire Live about how they’re feeling for the big day.

Leanne Whitehall, 26-years-old, a nursery nurse from Arnold is “buzzing for the game.” Unfortunately, Leanne wasn’t able to get tickets to Wembley.

She said: “I can’t wait! My little boy is just as buzzing as me and his dad.

“I can’t sit through another penalty shootout but my God, we’re all excited. Come on you Reds! I’m absolutely gutted that we couldn’t get tickets but we’ll all be glued to the sofa no doubt on Sunday.

“If we get to the Premier League, it’ll be celebrations upon celebrations.”

Loyal Nottingham Forest fan, 50-year-old Carl Bainbridge from Arnold works for Amazon. Carl will be going to Wembley on Sunday.
