Every word from Pep Guardiola press conference with Man City team news update vs Norwich and Liverpool reaction

Pep Guardiola has given a team news update on his Manchester City squad ahead of the Premier League trip to Norwich.

Guardiola spoke to the media at 1.30pm after leading City to victory over Brentford in midweek. That win extended City's lead at the top of the Premier League to 12 points, but Liverpool pegged that back to nine points when they beat Leicester on Thursday.

City were without Gabriel Jesus and Cole Palmer against Brentford with minor injuries, with Guardiola suggesting Jesus was closer to a return before facing the Bees. The manager offered a new update on the strength of his squad, confirming Jesus and Palmer remain unavailable.

The clash with Dean Smith's resurgent Canaries is City's last before the Champions League last-16 gets underway, with Guardiola set to make at least one change in Portugal with Kyle Walker suspended. John Stones was used at right-back on Wednesday, while Joao Cancelo and Aleks Zinchenko could also be used in the full-back positions to cope with the enforced absence.

If Guardiola wants one final experiment before that clash, he will have to do it at Norwich.
