Every word Erik ten Hag said in Manchester United press conference ahead of Man City fixture

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag took questions from journalists at Carrington on Friday.

United secured a much-needed 1-0 win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League earlier this week and that victory represented a third consecutive win in all competitions ahead of the Manchester derby.

Although United have won three games on the bounce, performances have been unconvincing and Ten Hag knows his players will have to be at their best to get something against Manchester City on Sunday.

City have not hit their stride themselves but they're second in the table and have conceded the fewest goals in the league. Pep Guardiola's men won all of their first six Premier League outings but needed a 2-1 win against Brighton to get back to winning ways after two consecutive league defeats.

Ten Hag gave his thoughts on the game, he revealed the team news and more.

Recap every word from Ten Hag here.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Manchester United are talking with the Football Association over Alejandro Garnacho's social media post in which he used two gorilla emojis over a picture of Andre Onana.

The FA have been in contact with United to ask for Garnacho's observations over the X post, which he subsequently deleted. Onana took to Instagram on Thursday night to say he knew what the 19-year-old meant and that the matter should go no further.

But Edinson Cavani and Bernardo Silva have both been banned for similar posts in the past and United are now waiting to hear whether Garnacho will be charged by the FA.
