BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott says 'it's a sad day' after behind-the-scenes change

Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott told fans 'today is a sad day' as she gave them a sneak peak behind the scenes of the BBC show.

The Love Island star let her Instagram followers know of a big change in the Strictly studio - and she seemed to have mixed emotions about it. The Strictly contestant shared on social media that she will no longer be sharing a dressing room with fellow celebs Ellie Leach and Nikita Kanda.

Zara took to Instagram to give a tour of her new room with the caption, 'Not sure how I feel about this Ellie Leach. I may sneak back into your room for girl chats'.

Speaking in the video the 26-year-old said: "Today is a sad day because.... well it's a bittersweet day because I've finally got my own dressing room.

"But I have been sharing with Ellie for the last six weeks, maybe more, because there is not enough space in this building so me and Ellie have been sharing, and Nikita as well."

Showing fans her empty dressing room - complete with a sofa and full-length mirror - she added: "Now today is the day. Oh my gosh, I've got my own dressing room. "

Zara is hoping for a better performance in this week's show as last weekend saw her and partner Graziano di Prima find themselves in the bottom three.
