"Every parent's worst nightmare": Tragedy as boy, 17, killed after car crashes into farm building
A teenage passenger has died in a horror crash in Lancashire. Emergency services were called out to Fir Tree Lane, in Aughton, shortly after 9pm yesterday (Wednesday, December 11).
It followed a crash involving a Vauxhall Corsa, which was heading north along the road. The car left the carriageway before crashing into a farm building.
The passenger, a 17-year-old boy, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following the crash. Sadly, he was pronounced dead a short time later, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Lancashire Police says the boy's family are aware and are being supported. Three other teenagers, all boys, were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
Hundreds of people have paid tribute to the teenager who lost his life. Writing on Lancashire Police's Facebook page, one person said: "Thoughts go out to the families... that's too young to pass."
Another person added: "Utterly heartbreaking. Tragic at any time, but it just feels a bit worse so close to Christmas. Condolences to the young man's family."
A third person also wrote: "Every parent's worst nightmare thoughts are with the families and friends." A fourth added: "So tragic, to lose a son, grandson, brother, nephew? So very young, my heartfelt condolences to the family."
There was a large emergency services presence in the area following the crash and the road was closed for several hours.
