Everton transfer news: Former agent of Yerry Mina delivers mixed messages over future of Goodison star

Yerry Mina’s former agent has sent mixed messages over where he sees the future of the Everton centre-back.

The defender will enter the final year of his contract this summer but he is coming off the back of another injury-plagued campaign. Indeed, Mina made just 14 appearances for the Toffees this season.

Questions have since been raised about the Colombia star’s future and now his old agent has had his say.

Mario Mauri told Italian news website L’Interista via (Sport Witness): “I know him very well; we had a relationship with Jair Mina, his uncle who represented him.

“Since he went to Everton, he is represented by a different agency. He got on very well at the Toffees; English football suits him well.

“At Everton, he grew a lot. I think it is possible for him to be renewed, even though he always wanted to come to Italy, so I think he would evaluate any offers. But that’s my opinion.

“Inter have always had an interest in Yerry in the past. I can confirm this because when I represented him, we had contacts with the Nerazzurri sporting director.

“Today, he is for Inter, absolutely. Then we have to see what Marotta thinks about it and maybe Farris, who is in charge of the defensive side and whom I know, being from Viterbo like myself. He had a good opinion of the player.

“I don’t know if at this moment he is willing to leave the Premier League, where he is very well known and respected.

“There are preconditions for him to stay, if not at Everton, at any rate in England. Italy, however, has always fascinated him, that’s for sure, so I see his arrival in the Belpaese as possible.”
