"Likely to be the first guy to fall" – talkSPORT reporter drops Everton exit claim on 39-cap ace

Everton defender Yerry Mina will be the “first guy to fall” at Goodison Park if the Toffees sign James Tarkowski, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

Frank Lampard is on the verge of making Tarkowski his first signing as Everton manager and Crook reckons his arrival could pave the way for the £120,000 per-week star to end his four-year stay at Goodison.

According to the Guardian, Tarkowski is on the verge of making the switch to Merseyside on a free transfer, which could see Mina moved on.

Mina has been with the club for four years, but injuries and a lack of consistency have restricted him to just 91 appearances in all competitions.

Last season, various muscle problems saw the 27-year-old turn out only 14 times, and with just 12 months remaining on his Toffees contract, he might have played his last game for the club.

According to UTTOmercatoWEB journalist Raimondo De Magistris, the centre-back, who made just four league appearances under Lampard’s guidance, has been told by the club he’s not part of their plans moving forward.

Similarly, Crook reckons that providing Tarkowski eventually becomes an Everton player in the coming weeks, Mina will be sold as a result.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Yerry Mina is likely to be the first guy to fall. I’d imagine it’ll be Tarkowski and Holgate as their first choice next season, because Holgate ended the season well.”

However, he’s missed almost 50 matches through injury since he arrived from the Spanish giants in 2018, which is an incredibly frustrating number for both player and club.
