Everton 'pretty confident' of late deadline day deal at Goodison Park
Everton are now ‘confident’ of landing Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz before Thursday’s transfer window slams shut, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
Well, the Toffees have been looking to strengthen in attack ever since the departure of Richarlison to Tottenham earlier in the summer, but they have struggled to do so.

Brereton Diaz has been linked with Frank Lampard’s side during the last few months, but it appears as though they are really stepping up their bid to land him before the 11pm deadline.
The Chile international has scored a total of 34 goals in 135 matches for Rovers, with his most impressive form coming last term when he netted 22 times in 39 matches in all competitons.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT on Thursday night, Phillips said: “Everton are pushing for Brereton Diaz in a late deal, I’ve just had word on that one. They’re pretty confident that they can get that one done and Lampard will be happy with that signing. They’re pushing for that one now.”
Although it doesn’t quite feel as though Everton have turned a corner from last season’s relegation battle just yet, their activity in the transfer market has been solid if rather unspectacular.
Indeed, the Toffees have managed to snap up five players with proven Premier League credentials in Conor Coady, formerly the skipper at Wolves, Burnley duo Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski, with the latter moving to Goodison Park on a free transfer, Brighton forward Neal Maupay and
