Everton analysis - Players need to listen to Frank Lampard about Anthony Gordon

Add Demarai Gray and Yerry Mina to Everton's growing list of injury concerns.

There were perhaps a couple of weeks at the start of this year in which it looked like the Blues might finally be coming to the end of this.

But, instead, they lost Ben Godfrey early in the first half against Brentford, with it later being confirmed that he isn't likely to be back in action until March.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is already on the sidelines, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still working his way back to full fitness, while Vitalii Mykolenko was missing on Tuesday evening through illness.

Of course, Everton still had quality on the pitch and on the bench so that excuse can only go so far - as it has all season for the Blues.

But Frank Lampard could certainly have done without more problems.

Mina had started the match in something of a shaky fashion, but he had certainly grown into proceedings in a physical battle with Chris Wood throughout the rest of his time on the pitch.

He's the leader at the back and Everton were absolutely worse off when he was forced off the pitch, even if he wasn't strictly having the best of matches in general.

Before that, Gray had also been removed from the action despite valiantly trying to play through his latest injury concern for a few minutes - to eventually no avail.

Again he wasn't having the best performance of his Everton spell, but the creativity that he brings to Lampard's squad is extremely obvious and was conspicuous by its absence in the latter stages of the match.

Regardless of how they were performing in the game, those are two key players for the Blues who were taken away in the first half.
