What happened in Everton dressing room after Richarlison goal given to Anthony Gordon

Frank Lampard has revealed the dressing room reaction to Richarlison being denied a goal against Leeds United by a flick from teammate Anthony Gordon.

The Brazilian initially thought he had put his side 3-0 up in what was a rousing win against Marcelo Bielsa's squad last weekend with a strike from outside the box.

However, on closer inspection, it became clear that the ball had deflected off Gordon to find the bottom corner of Ilan Meslier's goal.

Lampard has revealed that there were a few jokes being aimed at the forward in the dressing room following the game, however it was all taken in good faith.

The manager revealed: "I'm not sure about on the bench but in the dressing room, yeah!

"He's a very popular character in the dressing room and there were a lot of laughs, at his expense unfortunately, because he's a goalscorer.

"He's hungry for goals, as he should be, and the players were complimenting him on what a fantastic assist he'd made in the game.

"He's got quite a dry face, it's hard to read at times! But hopefully I'll start to read it more and more as we go.

"It was a nice moment really, he took it well, and I hope he gets his fair share going forward."

A number of fringe players managed to make their marks against Leeds and impressed many supporters.

And Lampard has made clear that he's keen to give everyone a fresh stat now that he has taken over as boss, knowing that he can't properly judge a player until he's seen them first-hand.

"I couldn't see it being any other way. You can't gauge a player until you've worked with them every day, as a person and as a player," he added.
