Euro 2022: England perform brilliant rendition of 'Sweet Caroline' at celebration event

After making history under the Wembley lights, the Euro 2022 celebrations are well underway for England.

The Lionesses ended the nation’s 56-year wait for a major trophy to come home after they defeated eight-time champions Germany on Sunday night.

The party started right after the final whistle and carried on well into the night — and the next day.

England rolled out the celebrations into Monday with a fan party at Trafalgar Square and it was certainly one to remember.

Former Lioness Alex Scott hosted the special event and welcomed the champions of Europe to the stage in front of thousands of adoring fans.

Leah Williamson, Sarina Wiegman, Jill Scott and others delivered touching speeches as the sea of white and red before them waved their flags with pride. But the most iconic moment of the afternoon was when ‘Sweet Caroline’ boomed out over the speakers.

Echoing the record-breaking crowd who belted out the iconic tune at Wembley on Sunday night, the supporters in Trafalgar Square immediately burst into song and the Lionesses couldn’t help but join in.
