Erling Haaland: The Premier League players who have scored back-to-back hat-tricks

Erling Haaland made it two hat-tricks from as many games with his glut of goals against Nottingham Forest.

The Norwegian forward has been in electric form for Manchester City ever since signing from Borussia Dortmund in a £51 million move over the summer.

He’s started like a house on fire and has already managed to bag nine goals and an assist from just six games.

Haaland has looked immense from the off. If he’s not scoring, he’s making the right movements and fashioning chances galore in Pep Guardiola’s well-drilled side.

City never really struggled to score goals before Haaland’s arrival despite operating without a number nine, but adding him to the team has given them a completely new dimension and the 22-year-old is relishing the responsibility.

His first hat-trick in City colours came in emphatic fashion as it inspired them to a 4-2 comeback victory at home to Crystal Palace.

He followed that up with another hat-trick mere days later against Nottingham Forest as City ran out 6-0 victors in a rampant display, with Julian Alvarez also impressing.

But it was Haaland who stole the show. And in doing so, he’s joined an incredibly exclusive Premier League club already.

Haaland has become just the sixth player to notch back-to-back hat-tricks in the Premier League with his trios against Palace and Forest. That just goes to show how remarkable a feat it actually is, no matter the opposition.

Watching Haaland claim the match ball against Palace was frightening and it felt like the first of many – but nobody anticipated that the next one would come at the next possible chance. The man is unworldly.
