Erik ten Hag's summer transfer priority is becoming clearer at Manchester United
Despite an impressive first season as Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag is well aware the club need to add reinforcements in the summer transfer window. However, while the Reds need to recruit new players in a number of positions, the club's ability to move players on will be equally important.
It is understood that the Dutchman has pushed United to be ruthless this summer, with the Reds accepting there have to be more outgoings than incomings. The club have a number of contracted players who have made just a handful of appearances this campaign - and some who are yet to even feature.
Phil Jones, for example, has not played a single minute since Ten Hag was appointed manager. The 31-year-old centre-back will be released at the end of the season, having made 229 appearances since arriving at Old Trafford in 2011. As well as Jones, United have provisionally planned to sell Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Anthony Martial.

The general consensus is that Maguire's time with the Reds is going to come to an end. The club captain has endured a difficult time at club level in the past couple of years, and his struggles in the Europa League defeat at Sevilla led to even more speculation about his future in Manchester. Should he depart, the 30-year-old could potentially leave having won two trophies as skipper.
Meanwhile, for the likes of Bailly, Telles, Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams, their respective careers with United have failed to live up to expectations. They will all be allowed to leave Old Trafford, while the club will listen to loan offers for Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri.
It promises to be a summer of
