Erik ten Hag reveals 2 things he's expecting from Mason Mount for Man United vs Crystal Palace

Mason Mount starts for Manchester United against Crystal Palace because Bruno Fernandes is unavailable and he is 'ready' to feature, according to Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag confirmed Fernandes was a doubt at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, but it was hoped the midfielder could have an outside chance of still making the squad. Fernandes had never missed a club game through injury in his entire career and he's now lost that record.

It's the first time Fernandes has missed a game, excluding suspensions, since Tottenham at home in March 2022 when he was unwell and his injury is a huge blow for United.

In the absence of Fernandes, Ten Hag has named a midfield three of Mount, Kobbie Mainoo and Christian Eriksen. Crystal Palace are comfortably the bookmaker's favourites to win at Selhurst Park on Monday night and head into the clash having gone four games unbeaten.
