Flight attendant shares gross tip to stop you getting ill on holiday

With the Easter holidays upon us millions of people will be jetting off abroad on a much-needed getaway. Going on holiday is exciting - you spend ages planning your trip, looking forward to it in the weeks leading up to your departure and when you finally arrive at your destination you can relax and enjoy.

For the most part flying is a smooth experience. As long as you remember your passport and stick to baggage rules - and don’t get delayed - it usually goes well.

Yet sometimes travel doesn’t always go as planned, particularly when it comes to flying. Being on board a plane can be an uncomfortable experience with things like travel sickness, bloating and ear-popping common occurrences.

It can be easy to pick up bugs and illnesses on board a plane too as you’re in such close quarters with other people. You can’t avoid everything, but an EasyJet flight attendant has shared a useful tip that may stop you from catching something nasty.

Flight attendants have teamed up with luxury membership platform Velloy to help share advice for passengers. When it comes to avoiding illness, one EasyJet employee revealed that plans can harbour a lot of germs.

They shared this useful tip with passengers: Whether you’re eating an in-flight meal or having a mid-flight snack, never eat directly off the tray table. Attendants see so many people lay down their heads, change their babies' nappies, and even have their feet on the tray tables.”

Avoiding direct contact with the tray table can help prevent you picking up a nasty bug which could ruin your holiday. But that's not the only gross aspect of air travel; one Tui staff member has shared another tip for passengers.
