Erik ten Hag hints at Manchester United selection dilemma ahead of Galatasaray fixture

Manager Erik ten Hag has hinted that he could face a selection dilemma in the attacking department ahead of this evening's Champions League clash with Galatasaray at Rams Park.

United, who were beaten 3-2 by the Turkish outfit at Old Trafford last month, are set to welcome Rasmus Hojlund back into the fold after he missed Sunday's 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park. He missed the trip to Merseyside after failing to recover from a muscle injury he suffered prior to the international break.

In the Dane's absence, Anthony Martial was handed his first Premier League start since the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on September 3. He won the penalty for United's second goal of the game and then netted their third himself, maintaining his impressive goalscoring record against Everton in the process.

But with Hojlund, who has been included in the 22-man squad that has travelled to Istanbul, set to be available for selection, it means Martial is at risk of losing his place and being relegated to the bench. Hojlund is United's leading marksman this season with five goals, all of which have been plundered in the Champions League.

"He did magnificent," Ten Hag told United's club website, addressing Hojlund's start to his Champions League campaign. "As a young player, you're playing your first season in the Champions League, you already net five times and he's so eager to score even more.

"But also Anthony Martial scored at Everton and got a penalty. So he did very well. So it's good we have options there and we are pleased to go with those options into the game."
