Alejandro Garnacho celebrated like Cristiano Ronaldo after his stunning goal against Everton but he hardly raised a smile.

Garnacho acted like his goal at Goodison Park was ordinary when it was extraordinary and Bruno Fernandes, speaking after the game, joked the youngster had been watching too many videos of Ronaldo in his spare time. It was a spectacular goal that Ronaldo would have been proud to score and it could be remembered as the greatest acrobatic bicycle kick in the club's history - even ahead of Wayne Rooney's against Manchester City.

Rooney's overhead kick was imperfect and Garnacho's was technically immaculate. There was nothing accidental about it and a member of United communications staff later said it's a technique he practices in training.

"There is still a long way for him to be like Cristiano but he's getting his steps," Fernandes added in the interview and Garnacho took another step forward against Galatasaray in the Champions League just a few days later.

Garnacho opened the scoring in Istanbul when firing an effort into the roof of the goal. Bruno Fernandes scored another excellent goal shortly after that and it was a shame the game subsequently ended in a 3-3 draw.

Since becoming a first-team player, the challenge for Garnacho has been to have the same impact on games when he's starting as he does from the bench and the pieces of the jigsaw are finally coming together.

The winger, who is remarkably still only 19 years old, has started seven consecutive games for United and he's now showing the type of consistency which suggests he's entering the next stage of his development.
