Erik ten Hag confirms fresh injury blow in Manchester United team news vs West Ham

Manchester United have some fresh doubts over players ahead of their trip to face West Ham in the Premier League, while Victor Lindelof is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines following surgery.

Erik ten Hag revealed a number of players had suffered from illness this week and are now in a race against the clock to be fit for the match on Saturday lunchtime.

Lindelof has undergone surgery for a recent unspecified injury issue while Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez are both expected to be back in action next month.

"We have some doubts, some illnesses during the week," he told reporters at his pre-match press conference. "We have to see who is available for tomorrow, hopefully they are recovered, we have to see."

When quizzed specifically on the fitness of Casemiro and Martinez, he added: "They are not available before Christmas, mid-January we expect them back.

"Mason Mount similar into January. Harry Maguire, I expect him early on. Victor Lindelof is not available, he has done surgery, he will be out for a couple of weeks. He had a problem, personal, he has to do the surgery."

Lindelof has missed the last three games with an unspecified injury that forced his half-time withdrawal against Chelsea two weeks ago.

There was no update on Anthony Martial since he was absent from the games against Bayern Munich and Liverpool last week due to illness, nor on Christian Eriksen after he returned to team training this week.

Diogo Dalot is suspended for the away fixture at West Ham after his dubious red card for dissent at Anfield but Bruno Fernandes is back from a one-match ban.
