Erik ten Hag gives verdict on Sergio Reguilon's start to Manchester United career
Erik ten Hag has praised Sergio Reguilon for bedding in quickly at Manchester United despite the testing circumstances.
Reguilon signed a season-long loan deal with United on deadline day, having been identified in the final days of the window as an emergency option to fill the void at left-back. Ten Hag confirmed at the end of August that Luke Shaw would be out for a number of weeks with a muscular issue, while Tyrell Malacia is yet to feature this season.
Talks had been ongoing to send Alvaro Fernandez out on loan - he eventually joined Granada on deadline day - leaving Ten Hag without a natural left-back. Reguilon made his debut in the 4-1 defeat at home to Brighton last weekend and started again at Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Despite two poor results and a pair of equally disappointing performances all-round, the Tottenham loanee has impressed. At the Allianz Arena midweek, he was arguably United's best player when up against the electric Leroy Sane, and Ten Hag has praised his new player's ability to hit the ground running.
“We're very happy with him and it is not easy to [be] coming in [to] a team you don't know," Ten Hag told MUTV. "And there was less preparation.
"Of course, he's experienced. [A] very good base he has but then still to know our rules and we didn't have the time to teach them, to coach them in training or in the preparation time in like a pre-season. But he had to go straight in and he did well."
