Erik ten Hag confirms triple boost ahead of Manchester United pre-season tour

Erik ten Hag has confirmed Scott McTominay, Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen will be part of Manchester United's pre-season tour of the United States.

United kicked off their pre-season with a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg on Monday evening. The Reds were sluggish at the Lerkendal Stadion and were finally beaten when Noah Holm scored the only goal of the game in stoppage time. The hosts had hit the woodwork four times before that and Radek Vitek had been called into action to make a string of excellent saves.

United took to the field in Norway with only six players - Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jonny Evans, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Hannibal Mejbri and Marcus Rashford - with significant first-team experience, but Ten Hag confirmed after the game that McTominay, Eriksen and Hojlund would all be part of the squad that travels to America.

"This team today, not so many of the players will be in our squad, but there are some and for them I understand it's also very frustrating, but they have to prepare themselves for the season," he said.
