England tournament amnesia continues at Euro 2024 as Scotland price drops to lift prized trophy

Despite not winning anything for 57 years, England have been made joint favourites to win Euro 2024.

Next summer's finals in Germany will almost certainly have a tartan flavour after Europe's in-form team racked up a fifth Group A victory out of five to leave Scotland on the brink of a second major finals in three years thanks to a 3-0 first half demolition of Cyprus. The Auld Enemy visit Hampden for a "friendly" on Tuesday night ti mark the 150th anniversary of the Scottish FA. Steve Clarke's men will want to keep the momentum going though and the way his boys are playing, Gareth Southgate's boys are in for a severe test. The Three Lions were uninspiring in a 1-1 qualifying draw against Ukraine in Poland on Saturday night, but the bookies have them as the most likely to lift the trophy next July, along with France.

Les Bleus are the only side on the continent who can match Scotland's record so far in this campaign. They beat Ireland 2-0 in Paris on Thursday to keep their perfect record in tact, and are fancied to go deep in Germany.

The hosts are currently a 6/1 shot but haven't been firing on all cylinders in recent months. Spain, who are trailing Scotland by nine points in the group table, are 7/1 with Portugal next in the betting at 10s.
