Endrick: Man Utd and Chelsea ready bids for wonderkid dubbed 'next Neymar'

Endrick, the teenager dubbed ‘the next Neymar’, turned 16 on Thursday – and two of the Premier League’s top clubs are already reportedly intent on securing his services.

The highly-rated Brazilian, who is said to have scored a staggering 170 goals in 172 career outings, is set to sign a professional deal with Palmeiras – the club he has been with since the age of 11.

Unfortunately for Palmeiras fans, they probably won’t have long to enjoy his outrageous talents.

Endrick is tipped for a bright future in European football – something that is not lost on media in the South American country.

Journalists are expected to be out in force to capture the moment Endrick inks his Palmeiras contract. For most 15-year-olds, the attention might be a little overwhelming. For a youngster that has appeared on the front page of Spanish newspaper Marca on three occasions already in his career, the spotlight is nothing new.

Asked how he deals with the pressure of being compared to a superstar like Neymar, Endrick recently explained to the Daily Mail: “How do I cope with the hype? I try to remember that I’m very young.

The ultimate Neymar quiz

“I try to remember I’m still a child and that it’s only a game. I don’t want to take it overly seriously.

“Yes, I want to be serious about my career but during the game, I want to have as much fun as possible.”

Endrick was the star of the show at this year’s ‘Copinha’ – Brazil’s most prestigious youth competition – where he bagged Player of the Tournament honours, despite being only 15 in an Under 21s event.

He also went viral after scoring an outrageous bicycle kick during the tournament that many consider to be a contender for the prestigious Puskas Award.
